Summary

Image trail with smooth momentum

Description

Smooth Image Trail is a desktop-only interaction component. Since it relies on cursor movement, it has no effect on touch devices (mobile & tablet) — consider disabling or hiding it on smaller breakpoints. Settings Image Format — Choose between Square (single size value) or Custom (separate width and height). Size Variance — Adds a randomized size deviation per image, making each spawn feel unique and organic. Border Radius — Controls the roundness of each image card. Border Width / Border Color — Add an optional border to each image. Set width to 0 to disable. Smoothness — The core control. 0 = no momentum, images appear and hold in place. 100 = maximum glide distance with a long, gradual deceleration tail. Default 65 is the sweet spot. Spawn Offset — How far behind the cursor each image spawns before flying forward. Scales automatically with Smoothness. Total Duration — Full lifetime of each image in milliseconds, including flight, hold time, and exit animation. Spawn Interval — Minimum time between two spawns in milliseconds. Higher values produce fewer, more independent images. Min Cursor Speed — The cursor must exceed this speed threshold to trigger a spawn. Prevents accidental spawns on slow or stationary movement. Max Simultaneous — Caps the number of images visible at any one time. Keeps performance stable on longer interactions.
