Description
Marram is a twelve-room guesthouse site built around one question every OTA commission tool skips: not what commission costs a year, but how much of your own direct rate you can give away and still keep more than a channel leaves you. The home page states it in one line: a guest pays $210 either way, and the house can hand back $34.60 of it, 16.47% off rack rate, and still net more than a channel booking. $64,392, the annual commission every other calculator prints, sits struck through beside it as the number nobody acts on. A dedicated page runs the instrument: $148.15 net per channel booking after commission and cancellations, $180.09 net per direct booking at full rate, an advantage of $31.94 a room-night, and a discount slider that moves the arithmetic live. A billboard input, set to 30%, strips out bookings that only exist because a guest saw the property on a channel first, cutting the advantage to $22.35. All twelve rooms carry a break-even direct rate beside the channel rate, $175.40 against $210 up to $258.94 against $310. A rates page runs the same arithmetic by season, four bands each with a minimum stay and a direct column. Five walks from the door, tide gated or not. A page on the house: dinner at one sitting, a boot room instead of a spa. A directions page states plainly the last half mile is an unmade track. An enquiry form takes a name, email, dates and a party size, answered by a person, not a booking engine. Thirteen page templates including a custom 404, three CMS collections behind the rooms, the seasons and the walks. A grotesk carries display and body, a serif is set aside for every priced figure, so numbers read differently from the prose. Sixteen colour tokens, each with its own dark scheme value, on a cool grey green ground. The house, its rooms, its rates and every figure are invented to demonstrate the calculator, not a real business, and the photography is Unsplash placeholder work meant to be replaced with your own.
